Greg Costello – Player Liaison
Greg Costello has been involved in football since first joining Home Farm aged nine. Six years later, having represented both Dublin as it was then, in the Kennedy Cup, and Ireland’s U-15 schoolboys, he put pen to paper for Q.P.R., where he would spend five years playing for the London club.
After a brief spell with Swindon Town, and several more international caps for Ireland’s youths, Greg returned home to sign for Shelbourne. He spent ten years at Tolka, a span that formed part of what would become a golden era for Shels, a time that saw the club add significantly to their silverware collection.
After a short stint with Kilkenny and Athlone, Greg finished his playing career at Shamrock Rovers, where he spent two years, and where he appeared for a sixth time, in an F.A.I. Cup Final, having scored the winner in his first final for Shels in 1993.
Since his retirement from playing, Greg has stayed involved in football, by coaching schoolboy teams at various different ages.
